Be notified by email other than hotmail?

Hi,
Is there any way to be notified outside the Hotmail | NET sign-in scheme.
My hotmail account filters out everyone except my contacts and I don't use Messenger at work - nor do I want to.
Can I just nominate my own email which then receives notification about a resonse to my post?

It is correct that you need a Passport registered email address for notifications. We will review this policy and review alternatives.
